The club is very proud of its junior section.  There are approximately 200 Junior Members at the moment.

Juniors are able to book courts from Monday to Friday between 4pm and 7pm to play their tournaments. Courts may also be booked on a Saturday and Sunday afternoon if they are not being used for a match or have been booked by a senior member.

Junior membership runs from 1st April to 31st March which includes one hour of group coaching in sessions held on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings at either 5pm or 6pm.

We have one of the most comprehensive coaching programmes throughout the county led by Neil Walker and ably assisted by Olly Kazemi.

There are elite group coaching sessions held on Saturday afternoon for team players and promising new players.

Transition courses for children aged from around 3 years to 8 years are organised on Monday, Tuesday and Friday evenings between 4pm and 5pm. The cost is £35.00 for a ten week course.

Coaching courses are also held in the Easter and Summer holidays – see Neil Walker for details.

Neil Walker is the Club Coach with coaching also available from Olly Kazemi.

The Club also has a team "Cranston Park Panthers" in the Essex County Mini Tennis Academy League.

Organised play has also been introduced on a Friday evening. This is supervised by one of the coaches and is open to all juniors. Members just have to turn up.

Teams are entered in the Chelmsford Summer League, which is extremely well run and enjoyable to play in, and also National Leagues.

There are also numerous tournaments arranged throughout the year including the main club tournament, ladders, American tournaments and the popular parent and child round-robin. Information is posted on the junior notice board when events are organised.

Jo Gray is our Junior Secretary and will be happy to assist with any information about the junior section.

Child Protection
The club is fully aware of their responsibilities following changes in law relating to child protection issues and good practice.

A formal policy and procedure has been introduced to ensure all coaches, volunteers and officials are suitable to work with children.

This policy includes the appointment of an Child Protection Officer who is responsible for the safety of children and also acts as a focal point for reporting of concerns about any adult’s behaviour. Debbie Bilton is our Child Protection Officer.

The full procedure is on the Junior Notice Board in the club house.
